   John Barth - Practice Manager, Security & Audit A member of the JDA family since 1997, John has consistently helped some of Houston's top employers build great IT departments by playing an instrumental role in the recruitment, interviewing, and placement of the right IT professionals within those firms. Throughout his tenure, John has gained hands-on experience of IT industry cycles and has developed a wealth of knowledge including the best and worst industry practices and adaptation strategies. As a Practice Manager at JDA, John has been an excellent mentor for our team and has become a lifetime career counselor to many of our clients and candidates.
   
   Currently, John heads up our Security & Audit practice, and he recently assisted a national retail organization in hiring the first Chief Information Officer (CIO) in the company's history. He has also partnered with a publicly traded firm to build their audit team. Within our community, John has served on the Board of Directors for the Houston chapters of the Association of Information Technology Professionals (AITP), the Information Systems Audit and Control Association (ISACA), and the Information Systems Security Association (ISSA). In October, John was invited to speak at the ISACA monthly luncheon on issues such as hiring, IT career management, and strategic planning for IT organizations.
   
   Prior to joining JDA, John served as the Regional Director of Resource Management for SBI, Inc. where he directed all recruiting and staffing efforts for SQV, a $12 million technology integration and consulting firm. In addition, he implemented policies and workflow procedures for staffing, hired and fired recruiting and administrative personnel, trained management staff on hiring and staffing policies, and managed staff.
   
   In his personal time, John enjoys spending time with his wife and two sons, and he runs a private vocal studio teaching pre-professional and professional singers and actors. John earned a Bachelor of Music in Vocal Performance from the Oberlin Conservatory of Music.
