  In fact, a debate could even help clarify to the public that, relative to the Kansas Science Definition issue, there's at least one "expert who has reviewed the standards and found them wanting" who nevertheless openly claims that there is "No problem with the new wording" of the current Kansas definition of science (Dr. Karen Bartelt of Eureka College).

  Karen Bartelt, a professor of chemistry at Eureka College, will address some of the main arguments proposed by advocates of the "intelligent design" approach to biological developments at the regular monthly meeting of the Rational Examination Association of Lincoln Land (REALL) at 7 p.m. Tuesday at Lincoln Library.
  
  Advocates suggest intelligent design as an alternative to processes such as evolution in the development of living organisms.Bartelt's presentation will examine the evolution of these arguments in the past 20 years.
  
  Bartelt has a doctorate in chemistry, and she also teaches courses in earth science, science and critical thinking, and creation/evolution at Eureka.
