Jim has been an Orvis recommended guide for the past 14 years.His specialty is guiding for trout on the Spring Creeks of Southwest Wisconsin.He learned to fly cast as a kid from his father fishing for blue gills.His real job is a teacher at Madison East High School where he is completing his 30th year.An accomplished rod builder and fly tier, he has taught beginning and advanced fly tying and rod building.He is a member of Southern Wisconsin Chapter of Trout Unlimited and has served as their vice president, Icebreaker Chair, and on the Board of Directors.He has given well received slide presentations on Fly Fishing the Spring Creeks of Southern Wisconsin to many fishing groups in Wisconsin and Illinois, including the Ice Breaker for SWTU.He has also contributed photographs to a book on Wisconsin fly fishing "Exploring Wisconsin's Trout Streams" He will tie some of his favorite spring creek fly patterns for us, as well ! as, give a streamside presentation on his approach to our local spring creeks.
