   Joanne is the owner and director of Prairie Adult Care. She received her degree in Physical Therapy from the University of Minnesota. She has worked in the field of rehabilitation in local hospitals, nursing homes, home care and local school districts. Through her work in the community, Joanne identified a need for supportive services to families caring for adults in their homes. She began Prairie Adult Care in 1989. Joanne also provides private Medicare Certified physical therapy services.

   Joanne Bartel, Owner and Director for Prairie Adult Care, will be the keynote speaker at the July Eden Prairie Women's Network Luncheon.

   Joanne Bartel, an independent practice physical therapist, recognized the need for a community based health care center after 15 years of local hospital rehabilitation work. She licensed Prairie Adult Care through the Minnesota Department of Human Services in 1989 as a private day center and physical therapy center. Joanne is a member of the Eden Prairie Professionals in Aging, which recently set up a Web site to guide the working caregiver to services for aging adults in Eden Prairie. She is also active in the Minnesota Adult Day Services Association on the Education and Public Awareness Committee.
   
   Joanne will share with us how she developed her Adult Day Centers, the effects of adult caregiving on both the employee and the employer, and how to deal with caregiving issues in the workplace
