We are pleased to be partnering with the Glenn Gould School and look forward to the performances by the rising star of the vocal community, Wallis Guinta and her talented colleague on the piano, Suren Barry.

Suren Barry
Canadians first read about Suren Barry in the Ottawa Citizen, April 30, 2001, in an article entitled Since then he has been competing in this Ottawa festival annually and has been awarded numerous trophies and prizes.
Consistently impressing judges and critics alike, his playing is described as , and
By the age of 12, Suren won both the 2003 Ontario Music Festivals Association (OMFA) as well as the Ottawa Registered Music Teachers Association (ORMTA).
He has participated in the Canadian Music Competion where he placed third nationally in 2004 and second in 2006.
In 2006, he was the provincial winner of the Ontario Music Festival Association competition in the open piano category, and was selected to represent Ottawa again at this competition in 2007 and in 2008.
Suren Barry has been invited to perform before audiences in Ottawa, Montreal and Trois-Rivières.
He has given concerts at the Chapelle historique du Bon Pasteur in Montreal on an annual basis since 2006.
He was invited to perform as part of the cultural celebrations of the 20th anniversary of the Canadian Diocese of the Armenian Apostolic Church in Montreal, and has given recitals at the Salle Aram Khatchaturian in 2005 and 2008.
Suren is also a frequent recitalist in Ottawa where he performs in various venues, the benefits of which go towards causes such as the Children of the Nork Marash Orphanage in Armenia as well as the Ottawa Food Bank.
In the summer of 2007, he was showcased in two concerts as a in the Ottawa International Chamber Music Festival.
He has been given the opportunity to perform in masterclasses given by renowned artists such as Andre Laplante, Jean-Paul Sevilla, Karismeh Felfeli, Jacques Rouvier and Louis Lortie.
Suren is currently studying with John Perry at the Glenn Gould School.
