   Douglas Barry is Senior Consultant with Cutter's Enterprise Architecture Practice. He is Principal of Barry & Associates, Inc., which he founded in 1992. Mr. Barry has worked with DBMS technology for more than 20 years and with object technology and databases since 1987. He has been actively involved in creating and promoting standards for storing objects in databases. Mr. Barry specializes in the strategies, technologies, and products associated with object database and object-relational mapping applications. He is the author of XML Data Servers: An Infrastructure for Effectively Using XML in Electronic Commerce, a comparison of XML products and services, which looks at all the architectural options for XML data servers. Previously, Mr. Barry cofounded Itasca Systems, Inc., where he guided the technical development of the ORION ODBMS project into the commercial product ITASCA.
