   In LET US PRAY, LCMS President Dr. A.L. Barry reviews several truths about prayer as found in both the Old Testament and the New Testament. We must anchor all our prayers and devotional lives in scripture. He reviews prayers and devotional life found in Lutheran Confessions as found in the life of early church fathers, insights from Martin Luther and other orthodox Lutheran theologians. He discusses prayer and devotional life today and offers encouragement of one another.
   
   mall . A set order should be used so the children will learn. In public prayers of the church, it is important to include the whole people of God, our country, those in authority and the like. Prayers for the needs of the congregation are also included.

   Since Dr. A.L. Barry has been Synodical President, the Reporter has usually included a substantial insert titled The President's Newsletter which contains a great deal of information, news and commentary written by Dr. Barry himself. The Reporter really is an indispensable resource for Church Leaders, but I encourage every Lutheran Christian to check out an issue. Because it is sent to LC-MS called workers, you may be able to borrow it from a church staff member ; but the writing and coverage are well worth the price of a personal subscription. it be worth saying that the reporting is more than the upbeat propaganda one might expect ; difficulties and trouble in our church are also given honest and insightful coverage.
