Melissa Barker has been hired as a community support specialist.She will be working with individuals who have chronic mental illnesses to integrate or reintegrate them into the community.
Barker, who graduated from East High School in Sioux City, attended Western Iowa Tech Community College for her first two years of higher education.She earned her bachelor's of science degree in criminal justice and minor in sociology from Morningside College.She previously worked at Woodbury County Community Action Agency as an outreach worker for over two years.
