    Listed Investment Company Charter Pacific Corporation Limited (ASX:CHF) today announced the appointment of Mr Sandy Barblett as Chief Operating Officer of the company.

    In this role Mr Barblett will be responsible for managing Charter Pacific's existing portfolio of direct investments and working with the company's Melbourne-based corporate advisory subsidiary, Charter Pacific Capital, to build the pipeline of new advisory business and investment opportunities for the Group.Mr Barblett joins Charter Pacific from the London-based boutique corporate advisory firm Ironbridge Capital Partners.

    In his former role at Ironbridge Capital Partners, Mr Barblett specialised in working with small to mid cap public and private companies.His public company experience involves listings onto the AIM market in London which including fund raisings, mergers and acquisitions and appointments to several companies as a director.

    Mr Barblett previously held senior management positions for Pace Micro Technology plc which is one of the top 3 suppliers of pay TV solutions.He has previously worked in the UK, US and Hong Kong where he headed up the Asia Pacific region for Pace.

    Mr Barblett has a Bachelor of Business (Curtin University of Technology) and a Bachelor of Laws (University of Queensland).

    Sandy has over 15 years senior management experience working with private and publicly listed companies.Sandy worked for Pace Micro Technology plc, the leading developer of digital TV technologies for 11 years latterly as Regional Director for Pace APAC based in Hong Kong and then Regional Director for Pace EMEA based in London.Since leaving Pace he has advised a number of companies both private and listed on AIM in relation to raising private equity and general fund raising, admission onto the AIM market, strategy and management selection.He is currently a director of Apogee Power, Inc and Immersion Technology International plc and consultant to a number of other AIM and LSE listed companies.Sandy has a bachelor of business from Curtin University of Technology in Perth, Australia and a bachelor of laws from the University of Queensland; he previously worked for Minter Ellison as a solicitor.
