    John Bannon was an All-American in the 100-yard breaststroke and 200 individual medley.

    Highland Park's accomplishments in swimming and diving got another boost last month after learning three individuals and a relay team earned All-American marks by the National Interscholastic Swimming Coaches Association.

    John Bannon led the group with the nation's 55th-best time (1:53.54) in the boys' 200-yard individual medley, his state-title winning time at last year's UIL Class 4A Championships.He was also an All-American in the 100 breaststroke, where he had the 101st-best national time with his 58.91-second, state-runner-up time from the UIL meet.Bannon was the catalyst in guiding the Scots' boys team to place 10th at last year's state meet.
