Mr. James A. Ball

BALL Miss Amy Ball - piano teacher & secretary of the first Thorold & Beaverdams Historical Society also James A. Ball, born in 1833 - teacher at Thorold High School who became Inspector of Welland County Public Schools for many years.

Mr. James Ball was my piano teacher. My fondest memories were his playings of Chopin...and Art Tatum. He taught me how to color tone and play relaxed. He also inspired me to learn for myself and come up with my own melodies.
