    Today, Aaron Baldwin is a sculptor and painter and teaches at Charleston Southern University.Malcolm is a civil engineer and is into real estate.Like their father, both have built their own houses.

    "I admire him because he is such a creative force," says Aaron, 38."I don't know anyone who devotes themselves to art more than him."

    Aaron says that his relationship with his father was close before he got his big writing break with "The Hard to Catch Mercy," but that it still made a difference in his life.

    "It (the publication of the book) was a major turning point," says Aaron.
