   Born and raised in Seattle's Ballard neighborhood, Mark Balcos is the founder and owner of Balcos Insurance, Inc.

   After graduating from Ballard High School, Mark went onto Whitworth College in Spokane, Washington on a baseball scholarship.While at Whitworth, Mark became intrigued with the insurance industry and in October of 1985, became an agent for a large insurance company.With his drive to succeed, he built his agency into the number one agency in the region for that company.In 1993, he became the highest commercial producer of over 14,000 agents!As his company grew, the needs and coverage's began to exceed what working with one carrier could provide.Wanting to give his clients the absolute best coverage at the most reasonable rate, Mark decided to part ways and become an independent agent; and on July 1, 1998 that is just what he did.Balcos Insurance Inc. gained many different carriers which allowed them to offer much more competitive rates and coverage's to fit the needs of both their personal and commercial clients.
   
   Mark received his Broker's License in March of 1997 and is working towards his CIC Designation.Mark is currently the Treasurer for the Professional Insurance Agent's Association and is serving as Agent's Council for many different carriers.
