    Dave Balcombe started his career at Vauxhall Motors, spending 15 years there before moving to Lotus in 1986.He moved into project management 10 years ago and, after gaining experience on smaller projects, ran two whole vehicle programmes - the M250 followed by the introduction of the Elise Mk2.During this period he studied for a distance learning MBA with the Open University, graduating in 2000.Following a period managing projects for a major client, Balcombe headed up Lotus Vehicle Design Group for three years.During this time he worked with his team to introduce a PLM system to support the design process and improve design efficiency and capability.
