   Tracy Balazy joined the staff of the Press & Guide Newspapers as an intern in 1988, after earning an associate's degree in journalism at Ferris State University. She was hired as a full-time staff writer that fall, and over the next decade, worked two three-year stints as a Press & Guide reporter, covering everything from city government to local schools. After taking on the role of information officer at the University of Michigan-Dearborn in 1998, she returned to the Press & Guide as editor in 2000, and supervises the production of three editions covering Dearborn, Dearborn Heights and Warrendale/West Detroit. Balazy earned an award from the Michigan Press Association in 1997 for a story on a woman whose Dearborn home was a shrine to Elvis Presley, and one in 2001 for her editorial columns. She is a member of the Dearborn Heights Library Advisory Board and is on the boards of directors of the Dearborn Heights Goodfellows and the Southeast Michigan Land Conservancy.
