The Oakland Tribune has called John Balano the "East Bay strength and conditioning whiz".The Argus of Fremont, California hailed him as a "savior," who has helped athletes regain peak performance following surgery.Indeed, John has been vital to some of the most prominent athletes, from all sports, since the 1970's.On a daily basis, John employs a hands on approach which allows him to personally attend to the performance needs of many elite athletes.

John has provided speed development workshops and serves as a strength and conditioning consultant to the St. Mary's College football program.He has also been staff consultant to Roger Craig's Sportech and Solutions Physical Therapy in Fremont and remains on the Sports Medicine Curriculum Advisory Committee for the Mission Valley Regional Occupation Program as part of the Fremont (California) Unified School District.John has made numerous public appearances as a panelist and speaker at Sports Medicine Seminars, and is an adjunct faculty member to the Lisa Mize Olympian School of Softball.
Born in Chicago, Illinois, John came to California in the mid 1960's.He is a professional, certified through the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM) and the national governing body for Olympic weightlifting development (and member of the United States Olympic Committee), USA Weightlifting (USAW).Additional affiliations include IDEA, the International Association of Fitness Professionals; National Strength and Conditioning Association (NCSA).
