PORTLAND, Ore. & FREMONT, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Oct. 3, 2005--MiraLink Corporation, the proven expert in remote disaster recovery solutions, today announced the appointment of Sherri Bakos to vice president of worldwide sales and marketing.In this role, she will be responsible for accelerating the company's penetration into new markets and extend availability of the company's disaster recovery solutions globally.Bakos will report directly to Ron McCabe, president and CEO of MiraLink.

Bakos brings more than 20 years of proven experience working with companies ranging from small to medium enterprises to Fortune 100 businesses in developing business infrastructure.Most recently, Bakos was regional vice president sales for Focal Communications, a national telecommunications provider acquired by Corvis Corporation in 2004.Before that, she was vice president of worldwide sales for Sigma Networks, a start-up focused on delivering high-speed Metropolitan Area Network (MAN) services for telecommunications companies and internet service providers.During her tenure she was responsible for creating and managing North America sales and product development operations catapulting revenues from zero to more than 3 million in less than six months.Prior to that, she was Western Regional Vice President for Level 3 Communications and was responsible for launching and managing the regional operations, which quickly became the top region.During her career she also held senior management positions with MFS/WorldCom, British Telecom, Tymnet, a McDonnell Douglas Company.She started her career in high tech with a VAR focusing on Fortune 500 accounts.Bakos attended San Jose State University with an emphasis in marketing.
