According to TAPS' managing editor Mandy Baker, the scoring rubric adds up to equal 1,000 points, and TAPS received 970 of them.
TAPS also entered the same 2005 edition in the Columbia Scholastic Press Association's Crown Awards.This association plans to announce the winners at the College Media Advisers' 82nd Annual Scholastic Convention on March 17.
Eight members of the staff will attend this conference.During their stay, the staff members will be given the opportunity to learn more about the "latest technology available to produce quality campus media, as well as opportunities to network with other students and advisers from around the country," said Baker.
The eight staff members also hope to hear TAPS announced as a winner as they check out more than 500 newspapers, magazines and yearbooks that entered and will be displayed at the convention.
"We are excited about the awards the 2005 Taps has already received and hopeful that the CMA conference will bring more awards!"said Baker.
