  "This is the first year we've done our own camp in house," said Eddie Baker, recreation pastor at Temple. "We've used a a sports soccer ministry group out of (Mississippi College) the last three years, but we decided to try it here through the Upward organization."
  
  Upward Unlimited is a non-denominational sports ministry based in Spartanburg, S.C., that partners with approximately 1,500 churches across the country.

  Eddie Baker, minister of recreation, said the purpose of Camp Upward is to "give each camper a positive basketball experience.We want the children to realize that they are important and valuable because God loves them.
