Alison is an account executive at HMA Public Relations, keeping the news media in the know and keeping her clients in the news.
   
   Admittedly called a "know-it-all" in elementary school, Alison is a steel trap for knowledge; a steel trap that paid off when she graduated from Horizon High School in Scottsdale, Ariz. in the top five percent of her class and received a scholarship to Arizona State University.Originally planning on following in the footsteps of her consultant father, she started her college career as a business major, but when her interest in writing and public speaking FAR outpaced her interest in accounting and statistics, she knew it was time for a radical change.
   
   By chance, Alison had a class near the Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communications building at ASU.Curiosity led her to sign up for a few classes, and she found her calling.Public relations has afforded Alison the opportunity to stretch her writing skills while utilizing her talent for current events and trivia.
   
   After becoming a bone fide PR major, Alison joined the Public Relations Student Society of America, which led her to successful internships throughout her college career.It was not until a chance football game at her alma mater Horizon High School that she found her way to HMA.
   
   With the baby of the Bailin family playing varsity football for Horizon, the Bailin family rarely missed a game.And with a son also on the team, the Hanson family - the "H" in HMA - rarely missed one either.It wasn't too long before Alison scored an interview with the prestigious firm.
   
   An HMA team member since early 2004, Alison has worked on award-winning accounts in the restaurant, real estate, retail, non-profit, governmental and healthcare fields.Her team has won awards from both the American Marketing Association and the Public Relations Society of America.Bailin concentrates her efforts on media relations, event planning, crisis communications and strategic planning.
   
   Alison believes that the key to effective public relations is not just working with the media, but relating to them.
