Sheldon Baikie

We spoke to Sheldon Baikie who is the Youth, Elders and Recreation director for Nunatsiavut. Baikie says the planning committee decided to have this conference on that date. He says 3 elders will get together on September 22nd and 23rd to see what will be discussed at the conference.

Sheldon Baikie is the Deputy Minister for Cultural, Recreation and Tourism for Nunatsiavut. Baikie says former director Catharyn Andersen is on educational leave for two years.

Fun in the Sun (July 28, 2008): The Fun in the Sun festival is taking place in Postville during the come home year events.

Representatives from the Nunatsiavut Government, including Acting President Tony Andersen, Lands and Resources Minister William Barbour, and Culture, Recreation and Tourism Minister Ben Ponniuk participated in the event, along with the Deputy Minister for Culture, Recreation and Tourism, Sheldon Baikie, Tourism Director Kristy Sheppard, and Conservation Officer Dave Wolfrey.
