Kathy Baikie joined PHNS because she wanted to get in on the ground floor of a company with extraordinary growth potential, and because "these guys really know what they're doing."Clearly, the Tulsa , Oklahoma native has an appetite for the challenges of a dynamic, creative organization.
Kathy worked 21 years for Central and South West Services ("CSW"), a Dallas-based electric utility holding company with $3.2 billion in revenues.In the early 1990s, she managed Employee Relations for Tulsa-based Transok, Inc., a wholly-owned gas gathering and transmission subsidiary of CSW, where she was immersed in supporting the company's aggressive acquisition strategy.She developed an HR measurement methodology for staff recruitment that produced significant time and cost savings.
By the mid 1990s, Kathy was providing internal consulting services for all CSW subsidiaries in the areas of federal and state regulatory compliance.She standardized employee policies and procedures to provide consistency and effectiveness.She developed an on-line Behavioral Interview Guide for managers and supervisors.
As director of CSW's Human Resources Key Accounts department for a three state area, Kathy led the company's first benchmark study of products, services and internal customer satisfaction in the employment and employee relations area, and developed the department's HR Professional certification program.She supervised 30 professionals and a $9 million annual budget.
In 1998, Kathy led the Human Resources Merger Support Team when CSW merged with American Electric Power to create a $28.1 billion power company.She was responsible for the development and implementation of transitional and new employee policies and procedures, a new benefits program, a staffing competency process and complex day-to-day merger activities.
A graduate of Northeastern State University in Tulsa, Kathy is board certified as a Senior Professional in Human Resources from the HR Certification Institute.Kathy is active in community organizations having served two-terms as president of the Tulsa YWCA, and as a board member for Dallas Community College Association and Operation Aware in Tulsa.
