Charlotte Bahm's teaching is guided by the belief that there are commonalities that unite all people, and unique attributes that make each person special. There is also a nobility in each person that demands "acknowledgement, honor and respect."

Ms. Bahm became a teacher to help students become informed and respectful members of society - respectful of themselves and others, informed about their beliefs and the beliefs of others. She is especially interested in the interplay of literature and history, and in the way they teach students about themselves and about the society in which they live.

Ms. Bahm's teaching is marked by a student-driven approach, and supported by an honest rapport and mutual respect. Her lessons are both interactive and fun, inspiring both student creativity and critical thinking. Her goal is to create a space in which all students, regardless of background or prior educational experience, can learn.

Ms. Bahm has more than fourteen years of experience, teaching in classrooms in New Orleans, the city of Lexington in Virginia, and in two school districts in Florida. She has participated in the Summit Education Leadership Program, the People's Institute for Survival and Beyond Undoing Racism Workshop, the National Endowment for the Humanities Native American Literature Summer Teacher's Institute, and the Urban Teachers in the South: Japan in the Schools Program. She has also been nominated as Teacher of the Year and a Disney Teacher of the Year. She is especially please to serve on the Florida Virtual School faculty, believing that her school provides an equal opportunity for all students to access the highest quality in online curriculum.

Ms. Bahm earned her Master of Education degree in Curriculum and Instruction, and her Bachelor of Arts degree in Social Studies Education with a minor in English from the University of New Orleans.
