David Baca, director of clinical laboratory services at Selma Community Hospital, was honored at the hospital on Aug. 31 for 35 years of service to Adventist Health.
Baca began his career at Selma District Hospital in 1969 as a clinical laboratory scientist working for Selma Clinical Labs.He has spent time at other Adventist Health facilities over the last 35 years, largely in Hanford, returning to take over as director of the clinical laboratory in Selma five years ago.
"David is committed to excellence in laboratory science," said Selma Community Hospital Chief of Operations Rick Rawson at the ceremony.

Rawson said that Baca has a great team in the lab, but said it takes a great leader to achieve the kind of excellence the Selma lab has come to be known for.

Baca thanked Rawson and the Hospital for the honor.

Baca said he appreciates being the lab director and is please to provide lab services for the community.
