Born to them was a daughter , Kay Ayres Adams Porter of Roswell and a son , James Allen Ayres of Lewes , Del.
James spent many years as an officer in the U.S. Navy during World War II and then stationed at Corpus Christi , Texas and Pensacola , Fla.
He was band director at Roswell High School from 1965-1967 when he composed the school's Alma Mater , Hail Roswell High School , which is still being sung by students today.He then returned to the Navy until his retirement was attained.
He was appointed band director at Anadarko Oklahoma High School.After service in Anadarko , he took the position of principal at Madill High School where he officially retired.
Preceding him in death , in addition to his parents , were a brother , Ernest Earl Ayres and two sisters , Clemma Ayres Little and Evelyn Ayres Coe.

Surviving grandchildren are Deborah Kay Adams of Snohomish , Wash. , Jeffrey Adams and wife , Laurie , and John Michael Adams and wife , Kristi , of Tulsa , Okla. , Suzanne Ayres D'Arcy and husband , Steve , of Arlington , Texas and Amanda Kay Ayres of Fort Worth , Texas ; and three beloved great-grandchildren also survive James.
