In the past, McAllen architect Pedro Ayala, owner of PGA Studio Inc., has had the McAllen Engineering Department e-mail him an AutoCAD file of the entire city in order to access information about streets, lot sizes, rights of way and other geographic details important for his work.

"If it's online and you have somebody there at the city that updates it periodically, then all I would do is just access it online," he said.
