Inspired by the concept of Internet Clubs, as explained by an American Kiwanis International representative to Kiwanians attending the Australia District Convention, Beni Avallone decided to take up the challenge to build the first Internet Club in Australia.
    ...
Beni began the task of recruiting former and current Kiwanis members who were interested in the concept of an Internet Club to form the core of the club and to recruit potential members new to Kiwanis. Eventually, Charter strength was achieved but Beni was unable to find an existing Club within her traditional Kiwanis Club Division, or the District, to sponsor the Internet Club.

Showing remarkable determination, Beni found the necessary funds herself to Charter the Internet Club.

In the scholastic Term 2, 2009, Beni established a "Bring Up Grades" program at Westall Primary School in Victoria. Rather than having a whole-school program for the year, the School has decided to alternate it each term between the Junior and the Senior Levels. The Junior School section is concentrating on the "Reading Recovery" program. "Bring Up Grades" is a motivational program promoting higher academic performance. It is likely that the Senior School section will be concentrating on either "Literacy" or "Numeracy", or both. Westall PS already has a whole-school "Terrific Kids" program which Beni established in 2004, sponsored by Kiwanis Brighton Club.
