    Mr. Leo Atakpu, Executive Director of ANEEJ urged participants to come up with concrete suggestions as to how transparency and accountability in the management of oil resources can be achieved at the local and state levels.He supported the need for mass action and gave an example how Ozala Ward in Owan West Local Government Area of Edo State, stopped rigging by the ruling party in the state during the last local government election through mass action.

    He also cited the resistance of the people of Bakassi from moving to Cameroon as ruled by the International Court of justice (ICJ) through mass action and urged that CSOs in Nigeria need to wake up to the reality of mass action as a veritable tool in ensuring transparency and accountability in oil revenue management.
