   Gregory T. Asselin of Schenectady, N.Y., son of Raynald and Elaine Asselin, received the Levinus Clarkson Award during Clarkson University's 109th commencement ceremony on Sunday, May 12.

   Asselin, a senior interdisciplinary engineering and management (IE&M) major, was selected for the $1,000 award by a vote of the full university faculty, based on his scholarship and promise of outstanding achievement.
   
   Asselin graduated from Clarkson with a cumulative grade point average of 3.97 out of a possible 4.0 and was recently tapped into Clarkson's highest honor society, Phalanx.

   Asselin is also the recipient of numerous awards, including the Clarkson Leadership Award; the Phalanx Commendable Leadership Award; the National Collegiate Business Merit Award; the Copper and Brass Servicenter Association Award; the National Industrial Belting Association Award; the Richard Brady Legro Memorial Award; and the 2001 GE Student Intern & Co-Op Contribution Award.
   
   Outside of the classroom, Asselin was a recognizable presence on campus as the news anchor, news producer and business manager of the student-run television station, WCKN. He also worked as a peer tutor in managerial accounting and as a computer consultant. He was an intern during the summers at GE Power Systems and GE Medical Systems, completed a semester co-op at GE Supply, and on campus served as a GE Campus Ambassador. In June, Asselin will begin the full-time position of analyst for the enterprise-wide initiatives team at Textron Inc. in Providence, R.I.
