   Louise arrived in the Bow Valley 25 years ago from Toronto, Ontario. She met her husband, Joost, at Sunshine Village and eventually made Canmore her permanent home in 1986 where their two sons, Adrian and Steven, were born.
   
   Since arriving in Alberta, she has been in the hospitality industry also gaining experience in Real Estate sales, Property Management and Executive Leadership. She has gained extensive knowledge in organizational management, human resources, financial administration, and sales. She is a Bachelor of Arts Candidate, with a Psychology major through Athabasca University. Her Community Contributions are numerous and varied spanning 18 years.
   
   Her passions include her family and all animals, reptiles and birds. Her biggest goal in life is to work around all of her passions, utilizing and nurturing her personal values which include Individual Beliefs and Cultural Diversity, Individuals' Natural Talents, Respect, Integrity, Family, Transparency, Care and Protection of those we have power over.
   
   She feels blessed in sharing her life with multiple dogs of various breeds, sizes and colours, many cats and kittens, birds, gerbils, hampsters, snakes and horses. She has acted as midwife and nurse for many dogs and cats and has opened her home to the lost and injured, keeping some and interviewing candidates wishing to provide good homes for other foundlings. She has a desire to become actively involved in search and rescue missions in the future. She is proud to be part of a community that feels this organization is an important addition. Volunteering for the Canmore SPCA will allow her to work in an industry and with others who share the same passions as she does.
   
   In 2006, Louise will help manage a fundraising campaign to raise funds needed to complete the new BVSPCA Centre and eventually create the PAW (Pet Assisted Wellness) Program. She is motivated to bring this program into the Bow Valley through her personal experience with her son's successful fight against Luekemia and her recent diagnosis with breast cancer.
