   "We are convinced that LEO satellite communications is an excellent solution for our customers' remote distribution automation applications, providing them with an economical, reliable, two-way data communications service," said Thomas Asp, Project Manager at PSE. "We initially evaluated the Scientific-Atlanta system as part of a study we conducted for the National Rural Electric Cooperative Association (NRECA) Cooperative Research Network (CRN), which provides technology recommendations to its members. The study concluded that for remote applications that are not time critical, LEO satellite communications can be a valuable communication tool for an electric cooperative's automation efforts and offers a number of advantages over other communication technologies."
