George Asleson George Asleson was an All-Stater in football at Charles City back in the 50's.It would take time for him to arrive in Cedar Falls as he spent two years at Iowa and four years in the Air Force.But once he did arrive on the UNI campus, he made his presence felt immediately as he became a dominant force at offensive guard and tackle playing for two seasons.He was named All-American in 1960, the year the Panthers went undefeated in the regular season, only to lose to Hillsdale in the Mineral Bowl, a game in which he was named outstanding lineman.
Armed with his degree, he moved to Downey, California in 1963 joining North American Aviation as a Senior Engineer in their Space and Information Division.Later he would revert back to education taking over as head football coach and Electronics teacher at Bolsa Grande High in Garden Grove, California.In fact, he established the entire football program at Bolsa Grande where he would stay for 10 years.
In 1988, he became associated with The Palm Desert Resort and Country Club serving as general manager.
