   Taking the bronze position was recent Playing Certificate achiever Hassan Aslam (EGC) who missed the winning mark by a single stroke.
   
   Taking the two novelty prizes were Jea Jung Hung (EGC) for nearest the pin on the 11th hole and 2001/2 Byrne Medal Champion Josh King (DCGYC) who took longest drive (18th hole).
   
   At the award ceremony Khan thanked event sponsors Byrne and expressed how much he had enjoyed playing in 5 of the 7 qualifying rounds.
   
   Khan thanked his coach at Emirates Golf Club Darren Webster Clark. He also lauded the efforts of Mohammed Juma Buamim, Martin Duff and Saeed Al Budoor of the UGA for running the events and the Nad Al Sheba Club for hosting the final. Khan also added how excited he was about playing in the Pepsi Junior Am on May 29 as a result of his victory.

   DUBAI - Hassan Aslam of Emirates Golf Club won last week's Byrne 9 Hole JDP Medal after a splendid round of gross 48, net 30 over the front 9 of the Montgomerie Dubai.
   
   Aslam, who only received his playing certificate a week earlier displayed his potential by taking a four-shot victory over fellow Emirates member Saad Khan (net 34).
