The Lady Mayoress of Birmingham Mrs Jean Hood, the Lord Mayor of Birmingham Cllr John Hood and Araf Aslam
AN IRISH company whose innovative wardrobes regularly feature on top makeover shows on Irish television has opened its tenth new showroom on the outskirts of Birmingham. The Sliderobes showroom at the Fort Industrial Park in Castle Bromwich was formally opened by the Lord Mayor of Birmingham, Cllr John Hood. The Lord Mayor thanked Sliderobes for choosing the city as the location for its latest venture and wished the company success. The showroom and workshop is to be run by businessman, Araf Aslam, who was previously a management accountant in the IT sector, who will be helped with a team of five. Sliderobes say their storage solution concept, which was developed in Ireland 22 years ago, is different to anything else currently available in mainland Britain. It has proved a hit in the Irish Republic, where its products feature regularly on top makeover programmes. Mr Aslam, who has taken up the franchise for the Birmingham outlet said: "There are very few houses, new or old, that offer sufficient storage to the modern household." "The Sliderobes concept of designing storage space to use every single nook and cranny and developed on an individual basis to suit every single individual customer's needs is, I believe, unique in the UK." "This achieved through our designer visiting customers' homes and helping them to decide exactly what kind of storage they need," he added.
