   Cheryl Aslakson received her PhD from Wayne State University in Immunology and Microbiology, 1991. Her post-doctoral fellowships were at The Chicago Medical School, the University of Toledo and The Jackson Laboratory. She is currently the manager of Specialized Testing at St. John Hospital & Medical Center in Detroit, Michigan (1999-present). Previously, she was Associate Technical Director, Cellular Immunology, Specialty Laboratories (1998-1999). She has been a Diplomat of the American Board of Medical Laboratory Immunology since 2001. She is the chair of the ABMLI Part I Board committee. She has been a member of AMLI since 1996. She has served on the AMLI Standards Committee since 1998. Her major interests include flow cytometry and molecular pathology.

   The ABMLI is pleased to welcome Cheryl Aslakson, Ph.D., the Specialized Testing Manager for Immunology at St. John Hospital and Medical Center in Detroit, Mich. Aslakson passed a written and an oral exam on 10 March 2001 and is now certified as a Diplomate of The American Board of Medical Laboratory Immunology.
