   Pastor Askins was raised by Christian parents and accepted Christ at age six. During his childhood, he answered the call to full-time Christian service during an invitation at his hometown church in eastern Florida. Pastor Askins graduated from Bob Jones Academy in 1974. He completed a B.S. in Music Education in 1987 and an M.A. in Piano Performance in 1990 from Bob Jones University. Since then he has served as instrumental and choral director in Christian schools and as a Music Pastor for churches.
   
   In the fall of 2005, Pastor Askins and his wife Sandy joined Marquette. Pastor Askins leads the congregational singing and choir and also coordinates the church music program while Sandy serves as the pianist for congregational and choral music.
