Shelly Askew - Legal Director & Company Secretary

Shelly joined Tao in July 2000, setting up the in-house legal department from scratch.As Legal Director and Company Secretary Shelly reports directly to the CEO and the Board and is a member of the management team.Shelly is responsible for managing all of the company's legal affairs, including funding transactions, re-financings, mergers and acquisitions, and all IP and contract related activity.

Shelly began her career at Olswang in 1989, having graduated from Warwick University with a law degree.Qualifying as a solicitor in 1991, Shelly worked in the corporate/commercial department on mergers and acquisitions, MBOs, flotations and public offerings, joint ventures, shareholder agreements, capital restructurings, private equity and other financings, agency and distributions.

Shelly left Olswang in 1996 to join Quantum International Limited, an NYSE company focused on television direct marketing and e-commerce.In her role as Vice President, Head of Legal Affairs, and Company Secretary, Shelly developed the legal team and was responsible for advising on all legal matters relating to the business worldwide, outside of the USA.
