   Askew Joins Performance Improvement Team
   
   Katherine Ricks Askew, RN, has been selected as Halifax Regional Medical Center's Performance Improvement Assistant.
   
   "I am excited about returning to HRMC," said Askew. "Performance improvement is an exciting and rewarding process. I am also looking forward to the challenging opportunities that this position will bring."
   
   Askew will assist in the hospital's performance improvement activities for both the medical staff and employees. She will also play an integral role in quality improvement projects including helping to meet the standards of the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO).
   
   Prior to joining HRMC, Askew was the health coordinator at Coastal Lumber Company. She has also held positions at Halifax Medical Specialists, PA, and in the Emergency Care Center at HRMC.
   
   Askew received her associate degree in Nursing from Halifax Community College. She attends First United Methodist Church. She and her husband, Doug, reside in Roanoke Rapids. Askew is the proud mother of a son, Zak, a daughter, Kelli, and her stepdaughter, Heather.
