    Jason Askew Going Solo

    This week's featured member is Jason Askew. Jason lived in Spain and attended DGF from October of 1990 until November of 1993, grades 7 through 10. He was very close to, and still very close to, many of his friends in Spain including: Mark Leasure, Adam Lawrence, Michelle Krafton, Kari Funk, Corinne Sommer, Justin Burns, Lynette McDonough and many others.

    He then moved on to Newport, Rhode Island where he finished high school and began his schooling at the University of Rhode Island. Jason initially began studying music education, but later changed his major and received two degrees in Public Relations and Communications Studies, along with a minor in Music Performance.

    Jason currently works at American Power Conversion in Rhode Island as a Computer Systems Analyst. Jason states: "It's kind

    of strange how life can bring you down so many paths at once. Who would have thought I would go from music to computers!"

    Some facts about Jason: he has been in all-state performances and honor bands as a performer. He has also traveled to many places during college with the URI basketball team for NCAA tournaments playing percussion.

    Jason is also a Nationally Registered Emergency Medical Technician and volunteers on an ambulance. In his spare time, Jason still hits the club and bar scene as well as races sailboats during the spring, summer, and fall and of course flying planes
