   James E. Askew is Senior Vice President for Providia Healthcare Group. In this role , Jim brings over twenty-two years of healthcare experience to the company. He has extensive experience in healthcare sales and marketing , hospital management , hospital operations and development and management of provider-sponsored networks.
   
   Prior to joining Providia , Mr. Askew served as Executive Director for the South Carolina Healthcare Alliance and as Associate Executive Director for Millennium Health Systems , Inc.. Both of these organizations are provider controlled managed care networks. His duties in these positions included direct contracting with large employers and payors , provider contracting , network business development and network marketing.
   
   Mr. Askew has also served as President of ProHealth Solutions , a managed care information services firm dealing with HEDIS and other managed care data. He was Vice President with Abbey Home Healthcare , responsible for that company's operations in the eastern half of the United States. He has also held senior positions with The Coker Group and Cabot Services , Inc. , both healthcare companies.
   
   The first portion of Mr. Askew's career involved sales and marketing responsibilities with large healthcare corporations. He has served as Director of Marketing for Cutter Biomedical , AMI and St. Joseph's Health System in California. In addition , he was Division Sales Manager for the Johnson & Johnson corporation.
   
   Mr. Askew received his undergraduate degree from the University of Missouri and has earned a Master's degree in management from The Claremont Graduate School.
