  Adah Askew introduced Auntie Doll and could not say enough good things about this beloved Hawaiian lady who was born in West Maui and excelled in Hula and has dedicated her life to Aloha.
  
  Auntie Doll began with a traditional Hawaiian chant, then explained the word "Aloha": "Alo" means "in the presence of" and "Ha" means "the life giver" or "the breath of life". Auntie Doll emphasized that "Aloha is an action word." She praised the work of Rotarians, saying that all that we do and give is truly given with Aloha. "May it all come back to you 100-fold and more."

  Craft Talk by Adah Askew
  
  Adah was born in South Orange, New Jersey; moved to Harlem, NY at age 12. Earned a master's degree in counseling and has some credits toward her PhD. Adah has been a dancer; created the lesson plans for the TV show Sesame Street; taught and/or counseled at Hunter University, NYU, the U. of the Virgin Islands and St. Thomas University; taught in the New York City public and private school systems.
  
  Adah moved to Kauai and helped a school there expand its program from grades 7-12 to K-12. After moving to Maui, Adah became the Development Director for Montessori Hale O Keiki and continues her social work and therapy. Adah has two children and two grandchildren.
