Mr. R. Feddes, Netherlands National Committee IHP-HWRP Chairman, chaired the Conference with keynotes by Mr. A. Szollosi-nagy, UNESCO Deputy Assistant Director General and IHP Secretary, Mr. A.J. Askew, WMO's Hydrology and Water Resources Department and HWRP Director, and Mr. W. van Vierssen, Rector of the UNESCO-IHE Institute for Water Education, each outlining the roles of their respective organisations in leading the international water science and knowledge transfer efforts geared towards challenging global water constraints.
