   Mona Asker Mona Asker, Moses Lake School District, ESD 171. Asker has been an educator for 18 years; she teaches math at Columbia Basin Secondary School. Asker offers a calm approach and one-on-one help so that her students gain comfort and confidence with math, even when the topic proves challenging. Respect is so much a theme that one student dubbed her class "The Land of Appropriate" for the appropriate behavior that is expected, credit her with being able to stay on track and earn their diploma.

   North Central ESD recently announced the selection of Mona Asker as Regional Teacher of the Year. Mona, an 18-year teaching veteran, is presently a math and communications teacher, as well as freshman advisor for an alternative program at Columbia Basin Secondary School in the Moses Lake School District. Special congratulations go to Mona and the Moses Lake School District!
