According to Commissioner Ivar Asjes, the government of Curacao should be willing to invest in a new airline company that would solve the airlift problem of the island.
Asjes is all for it.He is of the opinion that a new national airline company should be considered as a strategic instrument for the development of the economy and tourism on the island. He said during the press conference of the Executive Council (BC) last week, that at the coalition level there are discussions going on to establish a successor to the bankrupt DCA.
He expects this to be added to the government agreement of the current coalition on island level.Asjes thinks of a national airline company, in which the island government has to invest in order to get some say. This is at odds with the version of the former BC, which also PLKP, together with PAR, PNP, and MAN were part of.
According to the former BC, a new airline company with Curacao as basis, should be founded without the financial contribution of the island Government of Curaçao.However, Asjes does not agree with this.

Asjes doesn't have a timeframe in mind yet for the realization of his plans.
