    The East Akyem District Chief Executive, Mr. Victor Emmanuel Asihene, appealed to the Ghana Education Service to decide on the prescribed uniform for public schools.He commended the teachers on their achievements and role as prime agents of change and the nerve centre of Ghana's development drive, adding that they would remain a core part of any Government policy.

    Mr. Asihene also spoke on the role of parents in shaping the character of their wards to be useful citizens and asked them not to relent in this regard.

    The District Chief Executive of East Akim, Mr Victor Asihene, said the President J A Kufuor has given approval for the Atiwa constituency to be upgraded into a district in response to the people's demands and urged the communities to work hard to raise enough revenue to support the new district.He said development projects including roads rehabilitation and boreholes for 23 communities under various funding were in progress in the district.

    Mr Asihene introduced 20 former members of the NDC from various zones in the Abuakwa constituency led by Mr Kwame Danso Amankwa, alias "Fu Manchu", Kibi Zonal Organiser, who have defected to the NPP to the gathering.
