   Lovells shortlisted for three awards at the International Tax Review's European Tax Awards 2008Lovells has underlined its commitment to developing its corporate practice with the hire of Chris Ashworth to head the firm's corporate finance practice.
   
   Chris, formerly head of European M&A and co-managing partner of O'Melveny & Myers' London office and previously head of corporate at Ashurst, will join Lovells on 8 May.

   As head of the corporate finance practice, Chris will be a partner in the international corporate practice stream, which is led by Andrew Skipper.

   Ashworth quits O'Melveny for Lovells

   O'Melveny & Myers' London office co-head Chris Ashworth is set to leave the firm to join Lovells.
   
   The Lovells partnership has been voting on his appointment throughout this week with the vote due to close on Tuesday (29 April).Ashworth is expected to resign from O'Melveny two days later.
   
   At Lovells he will fill the role vacated by corporate finance chief Hugh Nineham, who left the firm for McDermott Will & Emery earlier this year.
   
   Ashworth joined O'Melveny in 2005 after a period at Ashurst, where he had been head of corporate.
   
   He will be the second partner to leave O'Melveny this month with finance partner Stuart Hills due to join Weil Gotshal & Manges at the beginning of May.
   
   Ashworth and Lovells were unavailable for comment.
