BRENDA ASHWORTH
BRENDA A. ASHWORTH, Staff Geologist - Ms. Ashworth has a B.S. in Geology from Boise State University and provides project management, technical and field support to the hydrogeology group of the Boise office of EnviroSearch International. Ms. Ashworth has varied experience in environmental and hydrologic studies. Her primary duty includes performing characterization of UST sites and Phase II Environmental Site Assessments. Tasks includes scheduling, cost management, subcontractor negotiations, oversight of tank decommissioning, excavation of contaminated soil, installation of groundwater monitoring wells and soil gas and shallow groundwater surveys. She is knowledgeable in all aspects of water and soil sampling techniques. Ms. Ashworth is well-versed with the regulatory requirements of the Idaho Division of Environmental Quality for site closure.
Ms. Ashworth has a strong background in engineering geology and varied experience in geological investigations. She has over five years drilling experience, including air rotary, auger and core drilling. She has performed shallow subsurface geophysical studies. While working for the U.S. Bureau of Reclamation, Ms. Ashworth assisted in several Safety of Dams and slope stability studies. Subsequent employment provided experience in all aspects of laboratory analysis of soils and experience in asbestos air monitoring.
In addition, Ms. Ashworth has assisted in surface and groundwater studies including, wetland delineation and mitigation studies, wastewater land application permits, drainage feasibility studies, and alternate water supply studies. Ms. Ashworth is currently responsible for management of an Access database for the development of a 1, 000 home community in Ada County, Idaho. The database consists of groundwater elevation and water quality data for over 150 shallow groundwater wells and test pits. During her service in the Armed Forces, Ms. Ashworth was responsible for the receipt, entry and coding of solar and astrogeophysical from world wide sources.
Ms. Ashworth's education, experience and project management skills combine to provide accurate and precise data collection and make her an invaluable asset in conducting environmental site assessments and hydrologic studies.
