Dr. Bob Ashworth - Chief Technologist.
Dr. Ashworth is a chemical engineer whose experience covers coal conversion processes from pyrolyis to liquefaction to gasification and combustion. His experience also includes medical waste incineration and sterilization, wood gasification, dual fluid atomization, electric power cycle analyses and economic analyses. Ashworth has presented over 50 technical papers on fuels and fuel related subjects. He holds 16 U.S. patents on advanced systems relating to coal liquefaction, coal/biomass gasification, staged coal combustion, a dry flue gas scrubbing system that produces a KNO3 - K2SO4 fertilizer, ESP performance enhancement, SO3 opacity reduction, fuel composites, slurry fuel firing, reburning for NOX control, and minerals recovery from fly ash, with a 17th patent filed for mercury reduction. Several patents have been filed and allowed in other countries. He developed a low pollutant emissions "Super Batch" medical waste incinerator that was also used to burn tires successfully. He was the Project Manager for a study on Power Generation in Small Rural Communities for the Alaska Energy Authority. His industry activities include:
