John is a leader in the implementation of shared services and business process outsourcing. He was an architect of BC Hydro's shared services strategy and managed the shared services function since its inception. Recently BC Hydro was named as one of the top 10 shared services organizations in North America. Over the last several years John has successfully outsourced many of Hydro's internal services and was project manager responsible for outsourcing the shared services organization to Accenture.
John's early career was in information systems and technology, leading to his appointment as the Chief Information Officer of BC Hydro in the early 1990s. Just prior to this appointment he managed a project to outsource IT application development with the result being the creation of Westech Information Systems.
