Peter Ashton, acting Headmaster of St George's College, and the host and organiser of the conference, provides his account of the proceedings.

was born and brought up in Wakefield, West Yorkshir

After a number of years in Bio-and Medical Physics, he decided upon a career in Education.On graduating from the University of Leeds with a Dip.Ed.and a brief sojurn at Roundhay Grammar School in Leeds as Teacher of biology, he took an overseas appointment at St George´s College, Argentina, where he has remained.

During his time at St George's, Peter has held various Posts of responsibility and was appointed Deputy Headmaster in 1991.He is currently acting as interim Headmaster until the end of 2006.

In his younger days, Peter was a Rugby League player for his home town club Wakefield Trinity R.L.F.C.He continues to be a keen sportsman, who enjoys running, football and cricket.He also lists gardening, reading and sampling Buenos Aires cuisine and Argentine wines amongst his favorite pastimes.
